Uni timetable came out today and I guess I shouldn't be complaining, hopefully it won't all rearrange itself when I ask to change electives/subjects/units someone please explain the difference because I consider them all to be the same.
As promised, a photo of this sign that I bought online. I just don't know where to hang it.
Alright time to recount so after a jam packed weekend full of tennis I decided to give my mum's credit card a break. On the Monday we decided to go to the CBD for some sight seeing and 'shopping' more so window shopping except we were looking for a leather belt and laptop case for me, sunglasses and a glasses chain for my mum except we didn't find any suitable ones.
Caught train to CBD to change to the free city tram that went by Docklands which is the Sydney equivalent of Darling Harbour without the price tag, crowds nor the business. Btw on the Myki system you can travel a whole day around the state for only $7, cheap for adults who travel quite a distance or for tourists except there is no discrimination for concession, childs or adults so it sucks to be young.
I saw this at the train station and I instantly thought of Cityfail and how horrible their ratings would be if they actually bothered to do a survey
Docklands which was like a ghost town.
See what I mean
Shopping centre in Docklands which is struggling in my opinion, they used to have a ferris wheel there to attract crowds but they experienced some sort of electrical problems once the temperature reached like 35-40 degrees or so and now it's still in a state of disrepair.
This is the only thing that I bought the entire day apart from food. It was on sale at this shop in Docklands for $3.95 so yeah tea party at house some day just as soon as I master petit fours (:
Trekked around CBD, you know the major streets like Bourke St, Swanston St, Flinders St oh and we went to Queen Victoria Market except it was already closed.
Malay for Lunch
Entree- Curry Puffs which unfortunately were soaked in oil which made each bite rather unpleasant
Seafood Laksa, now this is the good stuff especially since they used three different types of noodles. It was also very filling and cheap so yeah try this if you're stuck for ideas. It's on Swanston St and isn't spicy all at just loaded with coconut milk/juice and curry powder but even that isn't too overwhelming.
^Dessert which consisted of Mocha and Strawberries and Cream balls (?)
Like I said before we trekked like everywhere, we went inside the QV centre and discovered this Asian dessert house there, went inside this art gallery, etc etc.
State Library
Cool looking building opposite state library, the green thing is like a lizard going in and out of the building
Tuesday
After breakfast we decided to go fruit picking at this farm which had strawberries and peaches for sale
Fruit picking!!!!
Let's go crazy (CN Blue reference here)
I have to agree with BeccaQ when she said that strawberries don't taste like anything. After eating like 30+ in the space of 30ish minutes I can safely say that they are just water and sugar mixed together.
The trees in the background are apple trees but they were kinda no go zones but hey that didn't stop us as we swiped two apples
We ended up regretting it, they might look ripe but that apple is far from it
Eating ripe peaches which were deliciously sweet, the one in my hand was the only peach that I ate from the 4kg that we picked, we left half with family friends and the rest we gifted to Sydney friends.
Hand picking every peach and my mum was so strict when it came to the size and colour of those peaches. Stupid fringe but it's shorter now (yay).
I was thoroughly amused when I saw this in Target, the sad thing is that this doll retails for about $40
We also ended up buying a whole bag of bananas for 50c even when the guy encouraged us to buy even more, it was going to be 37 degrees the next day so that's probably why the grocer wanted to clear them badly.
Thursday
Since we had so many strawberries and bananas we decided to make smoothies for breakfast. Lounged around at home like a couch potato watching hours of air crash investigations, mayday and seconds from disaster, it's kind of our ritual to watch these shows from 11-1 before going to bed. I'm kinda anxious every time I board a plane so when I tell to you to have a safe flight I really mean it. Taught them how to torrent videos (: Also so glad that Nole progressed through the finals without any drama and that feeling when I realised that my $350 ticket was all worth it in the end.
Friday
So before Elisa arrived, we went to Queen Victoria market.
That shirt on the left D:
They're so cute, I wish I could take them home with me but once they grow up they turn ugly...
Outside, my mum and my aunty are actually high school friends
The lady that I saw busking later outside Bourke St Myer, pictures are in other blog from that day
Tip for while you're at Melbourne- Don't Jay walk because apparently you can get fined for doing so, legit.
I've heard that it's a $60 fine in Sydney too, but no one ever gets fined.
ReplyDeleteYeah I'm pretty sure that that's the case here in Sydney but family friends warned us that people actually have been fined before for jay walking
