#408 - Ivy Pool Club

This is a very un-Sweet thing to do but I did it anyway... on a Monday night.
MULS made an event about this party last week and since I didn't go to camp and kept rejecting offers to go to The Ranch (I swear I will go this semester!), I decided to redeem myself and paid for a ticket. Turned out that none of the people I knew were going though they said they were (damn)  but I didn't want to waste the money I paid even though it was cheap... So I turned up knowing no one. End of the night: met some really nice down-to-earth people from higher years and one first year. It's quite intimidating to talk to someone when you're by yourself... But woot I did it!!! ='D Though I got to improve on making small talk; I can only blab on and on with people I've known for a substantial amount of time.
So, food was really just morsels : spring rolls, chicken sandwiches, dips. Meh. Drinks: expensive, dunno how people can fork out $20 for a small concoction. Oh yeah I was one of the few who were sober because drinking isn't my thing.   Location: dodgy back alley close to Wynyard Station; however once you get up to level 4, the scenery is really picturesque: gorgeous lanterns, comfy pretty seats and a really big shallow pool. Music: too loud. Toilets: apparently has a lounge and TV... how extravagant? Dress code: yeah who knew there was a dress code?! I turned up in my typical uni outfit and was surprised that people dressed like they were going to clubbing. Yay for sticking out like a mildly sore thumb ;D
An interesting experience overall.... Even though people were so clique-y for the first three hours.
