#118 - exploring in the name of Ancient

i went to macquarie uni today for an ancient history excursion. the museum of antiquities was quite nice, i:

-learnt that the wealthy in ancient times were fabulously loaded, to look and see, make theories and back up evidence and learnt how public toilets worked in rome, in detail... haha x)
-saw very ancient and weird things like a "phallic amulet" :O and a clay jug with the swastika
-saw an ancient unmummified girl's head with her nose and mouth punched by tomb robbers and a really grotesquely fascinating chopped off foot :D hope you all don't be feel grossed out by the graphic pics ^^ her hair is real btw, dyed by henna

do you know ancient history relates to everything we do in life? also you shouldn't always believe what people say. question their words secretly in your head.
with a serious expression, the instructor asked us really fast, "have you done the topic, 'forests in the deserts of egypt'?" of course, being non-thinkers and a big herd of sheep, 99.99% of the ancient people said, "no", including me, until duncan pointed out there were no forests in egypt =.= fail. moral is to think and don't be afraid to stand up for your opinions and theories and back them up.

epping station and macquarie uni station are very, very pretty. the architecture is so new age and the air smells so nice. the escalators and entrances to the platforms are amazingly gorgeous. i want to marry the architecture <3 and who ever knew you could get mX at macquarie? unfortunately today the paper had 20 pages about the wedding =.= and going home was awful. got to station at 3.10, 3.24 train cancelled, waited for the next train to come in 15 mins but got delayed by 10 mins, from epping, it was the all stop train that took 20 mins to get to stra -.- terrible service >:(

adorable random little kid running past who smiled for a photo!! ^O^

on the other hand, assessments :( :( :( time to unfortunately hardcore cram :( ciaooo

117- I is sad ): part 8

list of exams to sit:
1. Maths 2U
2. English Advanced T.T
3. Chemistry
4. English Extension
5. Maths Extension
6. Economic + Physics ( unfortunately they're on the same day~sigh)
okay so sat maths today and wow, hardest school maths test that i've sat so far. what am i feeling?
yeah i cant it explain but i'm glad that maths was today but i regret making so many silly mistakes and usually when i feel relatively confident/ okay about a maths test i dont do as well as i expected ):
yesterday my maths buddies and i had this epic one-sided discussion about how maths is so much better than english and yeah... we couldn't come up with any arguments as to why english is better
speaking about english; its on monday and im dreading it so much. i have mixed opinions about the 3 questions, i'm glad that the teachers gave them to us so it can minimise our pressure but they're so hard ><'' i feel very relieved after talking to my tutor, she's amazing and actually has the patience to put up with my fail english (thank you xC)

on another note has anyone realised the erosion of etiquette lately (i sound so englishy :$ ). so today when i walk home i have to cross this road okay and well at the crossing there's this sign
so when 20+ cars- drivers pass you and  make eye contact with you, you'd think they would bother to stop for a pedestrian i.e. me , btw i was waiting in the rain, and did i mention that i've been sick for a month yes...still! these littles things can make people's day and distract people from all the burdens of life. also there's a lack of transport ettiquette in this world; no offense to the people that go to my school but when we all caught the bus today to go parra, could one of you at least bothered to offer you seat to the public instead of ignoring them, fortunately this other passenger offered their seat which made me feel slightly better >=[

hmmm i should do english soon so ill leave you with this tip; that is, never buy processed cheese or this thing
but i suppose you can try it out for the lols- my mother bought this home from work the other day, it's part of the many wacky and strange products (mainly foods) that she tests. i tried using it when i was making carbonara today but it didnt have the effect that i wanted it to and to put it bluntly its annoying to use in cooking.

#115- Music is for the heart of our soul

the video below is an ad for docomo's touchwood phone but as much as i love docomo (if you know me well the you'll know my obsession over jap phones^^) this ad is so cool. i found it on my friend's blog and because its so amazing i shall share it with all of you =D btw this ad was created by using an insane quantity of wooden pieces to build a long downhill track/Xylophone that was able to reproduce Bach’s Cantata 147, Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring.

oh another note went yum cha at stra i was disappointed with the many dishes that we ordered ):

okay now to begin rant on the royal wedding. i only have one word to describe it: OVERRATED! in this modern day and age who could possibly care about two people that we are quite possibly, never going to meet... EVER. their wedding will of course be extravagant but what does that equal, big waste of money- hello aren't we in a GFC aka global food crisis. oh and there's those tacky and quite honestly horrid memorabilia that some loving citizens insist on buying and in large amounts as well (couldn't they of spent their hard earned money on something more useful?).

to top it all off theres news crews from around the world doing all these live coverages but who could be bothered to sit through such a boring event (although i just want to see what the cake looks like =D other than that i couldn't care less) why don't they report on something important other than this mediocre event. hey news crews did you know that there was an earthquake in japan yesterday [thanks for telling me sweet (: ].... guess not! because you're too busy creating all this hype about the royal wedding. ~end of rant

#114 - from place to place

cabra: yum cha at iron chef today! super yummy azn food ftw
parra: ear piercings for sis, bargaining at paxtons + camerahouse+myer
auburn: continuation of bargaining at harvey norman; nothing bought, and haircut! yay for bobs, my fringe is a little short and unsightly, but no more awkward stage hair =]

and:
finally we ordered D90 + 18-105mm + battery + 8gb memorycard + uv filter + free postage kit on ebay for only $1100! best bargain ever?!! YAYYYYY!! kit shall be arriving within 3-6 days ;D and of course, being super cheap lovely asians, we get the item undervalued to avoid paying import tax and gst =D
oh and i tried the d90 and lens at myer. so pretty!! *-* i have never seen godly beauty comparable to the beauty i saw today through the lens =D aaaaahhh *sighs in happiness and proceeds to be in a fangirl state*

and:
now i will be sad. i have just realised my extreme screwed-ness for school. doomed to fail =[ first exam is bio, and i have no recollection of what i learnt. the most boring subject ever, so glad i'm dropping the damn thing in five months.

however, i'm still in a pretty good mood because my love will be arriving soon after a long anticipated waiting period (yes i refer to the camera as my love =D), so i will share a nice vid of the wonders of photoshop =D

#113- Memories (:

so yesterday because of an incident i ended up looking through my collection of photos mainly from birthday parties. but anyhow i shall share a fond memory of year 9 camp- although it was a leadership/ learning how to study camp i suppose it really made girra 2012 bond more so than before
does anyone remember this optical illusion:
basically its one of those things that is used to test which side of the brain you use more. so if you see the woman spinning clockwise, then you use more of the right side of the brain and vice versa. Most of us would see the dancer turning anti-clockwise though you can try to focus and change the direction; see if you can do it. for more details click here.
random illusion to kill time =D
more memories:

me on the phone calling sweet (: cos she was an hour late =. =''
facepalm moment with JJ =D
it seems as though my parents cbb to go yum cha today so off to stra tmr- yay
sigh i just took a senses challenge and i got 8/20 = FAIL! wanna try it?
write your score in the shoutbox and be honest okay

#112 - king st. adventure

super long street with too many cafés, but ever so lovely with the most unique stores. i went yesterday with jess and half the shops were open. too bad all the op shops were closed ><
fav shops: mag nation, monster threads, art on king, the handmade everything shop, gould's bookshop (which is the biggest bookshop i've ever seen in my life), another cozy bookshop and random bakery with bread books near the counter.
my dad was quite discriminatory about newtown because of the people there =_= but it was very nice. and 99% of the young guys in newtown are sticks and all dress feminine. it was disappointing to only see two punks with crazy hair and fascinating to see a girl dressed like a gothic lolita.. oh and saw janna and her sis randomly at redfern around 5pm, we had a very random but nice convo (:

>cyanide & happiness book :O

the most attractive faces in the world, what do you think?

portrait faces!

best chairs in the world!

gould's bookshop! <3 i bought the da vinci code for $5 from here. rrp was $30 =D and it was in great condition too.

fact: we like to pose. weirdly..

#111- I is sad ): part 7

heyy everyone~ i'd like to welcome the return of my i is sad ): posts

i just finished my second advanced practice paper PHEW (the first one was attempted during class but that was because my teacher set it as homework) but anyhow has anyone else noticed it but ... ENGLISH IS A BITCH [excuse my lanuage i feel like im going to be told off for this very soon]

studying during these holidays has been very unproductive and hence my mood (look down the side, right under the shoutbox) so lately i stumbled upon this blog which is really similar to mine, hehehe i told sweet (: about it- ofc i wasnt stalking her >>.....so i decided to steal some of her cool pics =D
at times i feel like below:

#110 - Bitter ^^

well since bitter wrote something about me, i shall dedicate this post to her, and hope that after reading this, she will forgive me for something disgraceful i've done >.<
well i've known her since year 9 and i eventually got to know her better. and she is:
1. a very grumpy and crabby but cute grandma at times, though she has reduced her crabbiness to quite a minimum since last year. but keep in mind, she still has a little of crabby grandma within her, which is good, because no single person can be without an ounce of crabbiness in them (:
2. "small and yellow" - appearance accurately described by joanna ^^ heheh
3. one with good taste in everything, you name it, and if you knew her well, you would see she has good taste
4. a person who has a questionable past with escalators, especially dodgy underground escalators in the city >:D
5. a very very very good good good and dearly beloved friend, the sort of friend who you can just go out with and sit and talk over coffee (hehehe....) and have very long phone conversations with about anything :)

oh and people, my texting problem is fixed! text me and i will now be able to reply back to you :D (i'm advertising because my phone has been lonely for quite a long while T_T)

and sorry. if you can't say it with words, try saying it with picture. even better, say it with both.

#109- Sweet (:

over the past few years i have come to know sweet (: as many things:
 1. an inheritor of the cheek pinching gene as well as an abuser of people's cheeks
2. a mis-user of the word 'cute' tho at times it is appropriate
3. a very, very, very, good friend of mine (:
4. an enthuastic photography 'noob' in her opinion although she recently dumbfounded all of us when we were at paxton's at parra [at least i wasnt the only one who didnt understand what she was ranting on about]
5. as i like to word it a believer, supporter and enforcer of JUSTICE =D
a most recent example would be her ordeal with a fail ebay dealer [read post below] which reminds me of this 'product' that my friend bought for me as a gift...dodgy sales person who ripped him off in my opinion.... anyhow as quoted from sweet " justice is a combo of fairness, equality and access? :DD learnt from legal "

btw all you legal kids stop procrastinating and finish off all your notes however this message applies to everyone so STOP putting off that dreaded subject! for me that shall be english but on the bright side i've completed extension just need to remember my thesis, arguments and quotes so i can apply them to the question on the day~ 10 days til my first exam lets hope survive them

#108 - a story

bon jour,
i feel the urgent need to tell you a story.
my story begins with me drooling over the want for a dslr for many months. after many many many months passed, my dad finally said he was going to get me one. which was good news to me =D if you're interested, the kit we were going to get was Nikon D90 w/ 18-200mm VR II lens, which is btw, the best combo ever.
so we surfed the net b/c it was cheaper than buying in store. so exactly 7 days ago, we ordered the kit. now, cos we are eBay noobs and we rarely buy online (due to my mum's biggest fear of being scammed, which we owe to many hong kong news articles about many people getting scammed online -.-"), we didn't know how to buy (which was basically linking paypal and ebay together, then sending the payment). yeah, we're THAT nooby. ><
and the seller, who we thought, "oh, seems pretty good, 99.4% feedback, not a dodgy website," actually turns out to a be a scumbag.
reasons why he's a scumbag:

1. he did not give us a paypal invoice. first rule broken for seller policy. and he's still avoiding to answering our question as to why he didn't give it to us.

2. while we ordered the item and were still within the 7 day period for payment, the moron apparently let other people buy his stock. so does that mean we have nothing to buy anymore? legally binding contract = broken.

3. large contradiction examples:
regarding stock;
- eBay listing: more than 10 available
- in email correspondence: "my stock were all sold out."
regarding payment;
- site listing: 7 day period for payment.
- in email correspondence: "you didn't make the payment on time, you delayed it."
we're still in the 7 day period timeframe for payment, moron. 13/4 - 19/4 = 7 days.
this bs of his was nicely quoted back and his points were proved invalid. pwned

4. playing tricky with the prices. when we ordered, the price was $1422. yesterday he increased the price by $150. so what are you trying to do, charge us more? ==

5. puts the blame on us. uh no. you broke your side of the contract. shouldn't the blame be put onto you instead?

so i'm very pissed off. not happy jan. not happy.
and i've learnt a few things about online buying,
- my mum was right about hk online sellers (no offence to hk people)
- if the seller doesn't give you an invoice, don't buy from them
- there's a max. of 10 days to pay, but ebay follows the 7 day payment period by the seller
- read the seller policies

now we're awaiting his reply. i can't wait to quote his own lies back to him and see his ass get owned. beautifully owned.
on the other hand....i don't want to go look for a new camera and lens kit again =[[[ it took us 3 1/2 weeks to find a good deal =[[[

update: ebay confirmed his breaching of policy and contract, muahahaha. and they're conducting an investigation. PWNEDDDD

#107- 49 days

F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Fight for you. Respect you. Inspire you. Encourage you. Need you. Deserve you. Save you.
thanks for always being there for me sweet, viv and everyone else! i wish that we could all return to a time when we were all carefree- those were the days that i'd like to remember.

"Someone said once that love is letting someone misunderstand you, because that causes them less pain. If you love someone so much, I think it’s like that. You’d rather not give excuses. You’d rather that person not get hurt, even if you get misunderstood. How much it hurts to do that…I know that now. Hiding your heart…is a lot harder than not knowing your heart.” ~49 days

hmm i reckon that there's alot to learn from dramas such as in 49 days- humans are the most selfish species ever. we are defined by our greed, lust, envy, you name it and we do not hesistate to backstab our so-called 'friends' [ yeah i know this is total turn around from the first line of this post]. this drama questions the people in our lives, i mean is there really 3 people out there who genuinely loves you besides your family, that are willining to cry pure tears for you; that in itself is a good question. watch the drama and find out for yourself or if you cant be bothered then ask viv cos she'll gladly rant on about it.

#106 - mi amore vole fe yah

love cannot exist without trust

*continues singing born this way badly without a care* ♪♫
ah i'm in love. born this way and sara bareilles ♥
and sam tsui and kurt schneider love, their covers and songs are amazing and sam even dresses like me in the checked shirt sense, and the pic below is not a very flattering photo, he's so much cuter than that and now i'm rambling :P

anyway, i am feeling quite happy atm, since i have finally reviewed something related to school, ie. legal, which btw, is probably the only subject that i can get a very nice mark in, so yayyy. 10 pages done! ... and 88+ more to go, sigh. at least i started something :) and you know what is the best way to learn? by singing a song! for real. i'm learning the cmwlth v. tas case study by singing ms kwiet's very lovely lyrical arrangement of hotel california effectively ^^
and you know the phrase, "absence makes the heart grow fonder"? i think it applies to me, and i'm very glad it does =]
i'm also in reminiscing mode. i wish things were like what they were in the past; when we didn't change, there were no secrets we kept from each other, we were carefree spirits, there was no distance between us, and we didn't have a fake, fake, fake, exterior face we presented to the world...sigh.. "and if i were fearless, then i'd speak my truth and the world will hear this, that's what i wish i'd do.."
/end sad reminisce
now watch this lovely cover by sam and kurt, it's bound to cheer you up if you're having a bad day and you want to say fk you to someone =]

#105- Much ado about nothing

saw sweet today (: and good catch up with robbie and wendy ( show lo <3333) . i suffered sweet's pinches for the whole day and now my cheeks are sore. wendy i certainly do not envy your position. sigh i think im going to lock myself up in my room for the 2 weeks to avoid all distractions- but ofc i shall continue blogging or else sweet will be angry. also thank you archy for collecting the money for wendy's present, finished installment no.2 , time to get a card~

nts: parra is full of ppl that you know which is quite surprising at times as well as being odd

#104 - CityFail: a rant by a thoroughly annoyed commuter + misc.

i am a very angry commuter.
my sis and i had an optometrist appointment at flemington and had to be there by 4.30, but thanks to cityfail, we got there much later.
"the 4.11 train has been cancelled for today...we are experiencing major delays on the South line due to a problem with our signalling system at sydenham.. we apologise for the delays and sincerely thank you for your patience." <- the worst thing a commuter could ever want to hear. and it was repeated a lot over 26 minutes! hjsdkjhetriuqwal!
then we waited around 25 minutes later at lidcombe for the all stop museum train -__- RAHHHHHHRRHH I HATE DELAYS
oh and i'm also annoyed at the concession fare. my sis's child fare was $2.70 and my concession fare was $4?!! like wtf!!! i swear the concession fare was the same as the child fare...right? i find the whole concession idea really pointless and ridiculous, i just don't see the point of cityrail stating that a child is anyone under the age of 16, when technically under the official law, a person b/t the ages of 16-18 is still considered to be a child?! and the student/apprentice/people who leave school under age of 18 thing doesn't work too well...they are CHILDREN, still. anyway; point is: cityrail= shittyrail = cityfail
then we arrived at the optometrist. luckily, my eyesight is still pretty much the same, i'm like a 0.5 and a +/-1.5 and apparently i have a little bit of astigmatism =[ =[ sigh my eyesight is bad. i struggled to read the second last and last row...couldn't read anything at all =[ but i am getting new frames, hellllll yeah goodbye forever ugly three-year-old-red-pink frames!! :D and my dad is the pro-est and most embarrassing bargainer ever zomg @.@ he bargained from $220 down to $150 :')
and some awesome news:
WITHIN TEMPTATION'S PICTURE WAS IN mX! *fangirl squeal* yep, no joke :D wish they posted nightwish's though, but nvm, wt is still awesome!
and much love to real deal, they made my day (y)

"VOICE APPEAL: y'all should listen to within temptation or nightwish. rock music with singers who actually sing" - real deal

"Dutch gothic ensemble Within Temptation offer rock music with a twist: they actually know how to sing" - uhhh rock? more like metal! sharon den adel ^O^

SYMPHONIC+GOTHIC METAL FTWWWWWW

and the ride back home was much much better, minor delays.
and in mX overheard:
guy: "my mum is a top bloke."
^ LOL

#103- Family Funday Sunday

okay warning this might be a long post and i know this is a really late post seeing as im talking about my sunday. oh and i miss my weekly catch up sessions with sweet but our phone convo on friday was awesome =D

so on sunday i went to city with my mom for an epic shopping spree [hardly though]. first up was lunch at mother chu's but we ended up waiting forever for our food to be served and they even forgot to make some dishes that we ordered- i was very disappointed. next time i will reconsider eating there ): went sydney westfield and saw the shirt that sweet took a picture of in her previous post; what a coincidence =O and as i went to the newly developed part of westfield i felt so poor seeing all these luxury goods and the price tag that accompanied it. my mum told me a story about how she bought a pair of shoes from one of the stores that we visited called bally which is swiss but yeah those shoes are $$$$$ so expensive. went to myer next and i wanted to buy these pair of sunglasses sigh but i wasnt allowed; i shall wait patiently for the end of financial year sale to come. spent the remainder of the day going jewellery shopping, was quite boring actually but at least i got to sit in those comfortable chairs

chalk drawing outside qvb and sorry for my crappy photos i cbb to edit and they were taken in a hurry
3 levels of apple domination

wannna hear a sad story?..... when i went to city that day i saw this dress that i bought for butter's  b'day party for less than half price. i told better and she was depressed as well because she also bought a dress there.  i got my hair cut yesterday, lets just say that it was not worth the x amount of dollars that i paid. have i ever mentioned how much i hate my hair. i mean when its cut it looks decent but then i wash and BAM you notice how incredibly thick and annoying my hair is. i hope my hair grows back fast ): saw shirley yesterday as well i miss girra peeps T^T

#102 - glebe&noobyphotography

i never get up early on weekends. esp. in the hols. but i got up at 8:33 today, to go glebe w/ jess and sal then meet up with wendo and moni~ and also had a 2h45min catch up with my dear blog contributor til 11.30 ;D THEREFORE, YESTERDAY WAS AWESOME.

got to central around 11-ish, walked to broadway bus stop and got off near glebe markets, which can i say again, was AWESOME. def. going again =D things sold include:

i got a $3 owl necklace (best bargain i have ever found =DDD), $8 camera necklace with nikon on it, and 3 wristbands for $8.50. under $20 for 5 items = very happy me ^__^ but I WISH I BOUGHT THE WHOLE MARKET. oh and i do hope you noticed my lovely collection of business cards =D ~random fact: i love collecting stuff, i have about 150 cityrail tickets, 10 movie tickets, 130+ postcards....yup i'm a hoarder/collector.

then around 1, we decided to be awesome hobos, sitting on the floor, eating jess's lunch and slurping slurpies outside. and then we commenced on a very lovely photography adventure, where many people gave jess, sal and me weird looks; in one instance, i was stabbing sal with a creepy long branch =D

then wendy arrived :D

then monique!

trip to the domain~~

domain underground <3 wendy + me = wonderful badasses, running on the 400m escalator going the opposite way ^^ noticed weird looks from people, and 3 security cameras...but that was one of the best things i ever did in my life =D we went up and down the escalators around 6 times and: *hint hint, escalators going the wrong way, shirley ^^*

luvo:

beautiful cathedral lamp

and finally, night time at town hall~!

well this was a big post......took quite a while to do. hope you guys all enjoyed it, and holidays ftw!~~
