#108 - a story

bon jour,
i feel the urgent need to tell you a story.
my story begins with me drooling over the want for a dslr for many months. after many many many months passed, my dad finally said he was going to get me one. which was good news to me =D if you're interested, the kit we were going to get was Nikon D90 w/ 18-200mm VR II lens, which is btw, the best combo ever.
so we surfed the net b/c it was cheaper than buying in store. so exactly 7 days ago, we ordered the kit. now, cos we are eBay noobs and we rarely buy online (due to my mum's biggest fear of being scammed, which we owe to many hong kong news articles about many people getting scammed online -.-"), we didn't know how to buy (which was basically linking paypal and ebay together, then sending the payment). yeah, we're THAT nooby. ><
and the seller, who we thought, "oh, seems pretty good, 99.4% feedback, not a dodgy website," actually turns out to a be a scumbag.
reasons why he's a scumbag:

1. he did not give us a paypal invoice. first rule broken for seller policy. and he's still avoiding to answering our question as to why he didn't give it to us.

2. while we ordered the item and were still within the 7 day period for payment, the moron apparently let other people buy his stock. so does that mean we have nothing to buy anymore? legally binding contract = broken.

3. large contradiction examples:
regarding stock;
- eBay listing: more than 10 available
- in email correspondence: "my stock were all sold out."
regarding payment;
- site listing: 7 day period for payment.
- in email correspondence: "you didn't make the payment on time, you delayed it."
we're still in the 7 day period timeframe for payment, moron. 13/4 - 19/4 = 7 days.
this bs of his was nicely quoted back and his points were proved invalid. pwned

4. playing tricky with the prices. when we ordered, the price was $1422. yesterday he increased the price by $150. so what are you trying to do, charge us more? ==

5. puts the blame on us. uh no. you broke your side of the contract. shouldn't the blame be put onto you instead?

so i'm very pissed off. not happy jan. not happy.
and i've learnt a few things about online buying,
- my mum was right about hk online sellers (no offence to hk people)
- if the seller doesn't give you an invoice, don't buy from them
- there's a max. of 10 days to pay, but ebay follows the 7 day payment period by the seller
- read the seller policies

now we're awaiting his reply. i can't wait to quote his own lies back to him and see his ass get owned. beautifully owned.
on the other hand....i don't want to go look for a new camera and lens kit again =[[[ it took us 3 1/2 weeks to find a good deal =[[[

update: ebay confirmed his breaching of policy and contract, muahahaha. and they're conducting an investigation. PWNEDDDD
