#260 - the Project.

Yay for another rather long and angsty teenage post!
I'll say the good stuff first:: HE went unexpectedly very well! Considering I went and had a great and highly pathetic cry just before about being completely "lost".  So thus, I will continue on this quasi-philosophical journey! Personal projects are always fun anyway, despite the great amount of work you have to do. It brings a nice sense of accomplishment once you finish it :) Moving on, yesterday my dad received the Samsung Galaxy Tab in the mail. After buying so many Apple products, I influenced him into boycotting Apple this time =D and because I'm a little disgusted by the way my dad has been acting like the biggest and most annoying Apple fanboy in the world. Urgh. Today he was declaring "I love it!" Hehehe mission achieved :-)

And now for the bad, angsty, petty stuff:
I just scoured the net for a critique on one of my books ...and I found one. However, it was $36 for a 10 page article (or should I say bloody review, more like! Because that's what it is! And its only citation is the book itself!) written by a college professor?!!!!! I found another site that sold the same article for $50.43. wtf is this shit! NO. I'm willing to pay - but I definitely won't fork out more than $15, anything higher is ridiculous. Too bad I need at least two critiques. Ahhh, yes typical me complaining about a petty matter (yay for first world problems) - why not find another critique? I'd love to, but my specific topic significantly lacks source material. BLEARGH.

Since I'm sulking, I reckon this is a great song to go with my peeved mood. You can always count on Lily Allen for profanity and angst in cheery songs <3 That's right - f__ you very much, Routledge/Chris Bramsall!! >:(

And here is where I shall insert my snobby musical opinion (you could call my music taste 'hipster' with good reason). Read at your risk because I will most likely be bashing your musical taste.
Please tell me I am not the only one who is sick of One Direction. WHY ARE THEIR FACES/NAMES/ENTIRE BEINGS BLOODY PLASTERED EVERYWHERE. I can't scroll through Youtube without seeing them trending (prepubescent and older girls alike, get a hold of yourself, please! They're exploiting your stupid fangirling! I'm embarrassed to be of the same gender as you all!), I can't read the paper without seeing their names/faces, and hearing people talk about them in an adoring way just makes me want to puke. We all know they're not great, okay? Just the epitome of overrated, overhyped - ffs, they're not that good looking either. This is exactly what I meant when I've previously said that the overwhelming majority of chart toppers nowadays are fucking shit. And the guy who sings Billionaire -  I hate him too. Oh and I hate dubstep as well. I am happy that there are others who share my view and especially those who admire classical music because that is what I define "real music" as - real instruments, real skill - you practise your ass off and you need to have the dedication and talent to play beautiful music. It's a pity that only a few people admire or enjoy classical music to some extent and do not find it "gay". I think only those people who have been classically trained can understand and appreciate its beauty.  There should be more singer-songwriters - eg. Taylor Swift; I don't particularly like her that much anymore, but I do highly admire the fact she is a singer-songwriter. That's talent. Not 1D, Rihanna etc. Oh and another thing, I have zero respect for "musicians" who sell their bodies to receive more attention. If you have talent, people will notice (I will praise Adele here). Furthermore, if steroids are illegal for athletes, why isn't autotune illegal for singers? People who require auto tune possess no talent. The world's a hard place, and so called singers who can't sing in tune simply shouldn't make music their living. I'm a slight hypocrite however; I did enjoy Nicki Minaj's Superbass because it was catchy, but now I want to facepalm myself. Her lyrics don't freaking make any sense ==" Anyway if you hate me for bashing your view, I know it's to each to their own, but I'm sorry - frankly, your view and musical taste sucks.

glad I have a like minded musically inclined friend below!

On a sad note, I think I may not be attending DC's concert. My sis doesn't want to go anymore because his ticket prices are a little out of her budget. Anyone else like DC? I feel like I should go because it's just after an exam, and it's nice to chill once in a while.
