#453- Return of Princess Pearl

Hi Guys, official announcement that Reflectica and I will be in attendance for the Show Lo concert at the end of this month. It shall cap off my month of 'fun' before I go into hibernation until mid-sem break but that shall be very very brief before I resume my hermit life until the end of the semester.

Recently I've rewatching Return of Princess Pearl, a Chinese/Taiwanese epic that came out in 1998 and I watched it in 1998. That's right I was a 3 year old doting tot but now all grown up so that kinda makes me a veteran when it comes to watching dramas. I know it's so melodramatic and cliched obviously but being the sentimental person that I am, I just have this attachment to this drama in particular. I mean I watched it when I was 3 and you never forget your first especially if you've kept a 'Return of Princess Pearl' pencil that you had since you were 3 as well (yeah I was a fangirl even when I was 3 years old). I think that nothing beats childhood past-times, there's always something that we strive to hold onto and that's why we cannot separate ourselves or accept any critique of whatever we loved as kids.

#452 - Chocolateria San Churro

It's difficult to believe we've been friends for more than five and a half years now - I hope that there are many more years to come. The people who you grow up with really exert a huge influence on the person you become as an adult.
We had a rather disorganised eating and hanging out session at the aforementioned place and well I can finally say that I've eaten churros! The shakes were tasty. We tasted everyone's shakes by passing them clockwise around our table :) We saw so many Girra people and also managed to snag free birthday churros for the birthday girl against the rules - t'was awesome.

Also had a good long phone session with V who kindly reminded me to enrol for voting two hours before the deadline - such an awesome mother figure! 
I'm off now - I'm absurdly busy this week and the weeks after.

#451- Throwback Thursday

I know that today isn't Thursday but this post just could not wait because there's something that I want to share with you all if you haven't heard so from me already. Drum rolls please because this deserves it...... SHOW LUO IS COMING AND GRACING SYDNEY AGAIN WITH HIS PRESENCE AND GUESS WHO CAN ACTUALLY ATTEND ME, AS IN ME WHO WAS BANISHED FROM PARTAKING IN HIS CONCERT IN 2011 BUT THIS IT'S A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT STORY BECAUSE I WAS GIVEN THE OKAY IMMEDIATELY WHEN I BROUGHT THE TOPIC UP.

It is for this very reason that this week has been AWESOME suffice to say that I found out that my law tutor talks like one of my year 7 math teachers (the bad one out of the two that ended up ditching my class). But because I'm in the 'party tute' I will persevere or preserve the orange. Also warning guys from September until finals I will start my hibernation period, my calendar already has 10 sticky notes on it, each representing an assessment task and that's not even including finals. I'll still blog, you guys know that I love this communication platform and blogging has been something that has really grown on me, in the words of Chriselle Lim or as I remember them "after blogging each day for the past year (?) it is so weird to not blog". The meaning still there, of course you know we don't blog everyday but we're still here today so I guess that means something.

Okay back onto the main topic for discussion here:
Story is, I was listening to music and because I was on my desktop computer, I had yet to download itunes (still haven't but I'll get to it when I need to) so what do you do, you use Windows Media Player instead. Then Show Luo's One Man Show mv started playing and I was reminiscing about those days that I was blogging about it, please note my 'I is sad' series <--- I'm coining that as part of trademark titles (?). Anyhow I was pretty melo and because I haven't been following his activity lately I decided to wiki him as you do and because I was curious I decided to see if he was holding any concerts in the near future. And then behold when I scroll down I see a concert date for Melbourne in 2013, then I was devastated because it was in Melbourne, it was soon and sandwiched in between my assessment dates and there was no mention of Sydney. That led me to Facebook where I spammed Reflectica's wall (sorry) because we both deeply regret not being able to go in 2011. After that, I started to google it more to see if tickets were still available and then EUREKA SUCCESS, I managed to go to Ticketmaster's website and tickets were out and they were actually much cheaper than what I remembered them to be in 2011 and it's being held in Sydney Entertainment Centre and not some folk-law, conspicuous Big Top Sydney. Then I revisited Reflectica's wall to spam her all the while I was fangirling like the crazy (please use your imagination because I kind of regret not recording myself) and Better joined the conversation. What followed that was a fangirl conversation with Reflectica before we had to hang up and finally the story ends with me telling my mother about the concert and her saying yes without much deliberation. 2 YEARS OF GUILT TRIPPING IS THE WAY YOU TO GO- if at first you don't succeed wait for the next opportunity to arise all the while blackmail your parents by using their previous, wrong decision as leverage. SUCCESS!

#450 - Forward

It's starting to get so busy already and I'm trying to put my best foot forward. I've also decided to experience new things like...overcome my paranoia of having a mind blank whilst presenting in front of people - it's happened before, I had the most tense and longest fifteen second brain fart before I got back on track. Gosh I can't believe I've actually said yes to mooting, it's so not me because I'm not 'open' and I can tell I'm going to be pressed for time for everything but it's better to get the experience now instead of later.
On the friends bit - I've gotten even further this week and now I can safely say that I won't be by myself for the remaining years because that would be absolutely horrendous - no one survives by themself without any help.And on another note, I'm harboring slightly negative thoughts towards the electives I've chosen this semester but the good thing is that I'll won't have to do them anymore after this. And I'm so guilty of spontaneously buying food when I already have food because my friends end up buying food and I feel like a tightwad. I've gotta stop and enjoy and remember: who cares.
I finally got back to watching DW and remembered why I adore it the way I do and how freaking creepy Weeping Angels are and how bloody annoying the Daleks are. And the Tardis sound every time it whirls off for a new adventure *happy sighh* :)

#448 - What comes around

This will be a brief and rather disjointed post.

- Someone threw confetti at a lecturer with a very unique way of teaching and ran out the door and we slowly clapped for him because we didn't know what else to do
- Last Thursday was the 'Bump into people I haven't seen in 5 years and more' day :)
- I clearly don't how to disengage myself from conversation in an acceptable way when a random talks to me :\ fml must run away next time  
- Holy crap I am actually talking to a lot of people
- Every winter without fail, an illness will promptly be passed around the family and I'm currently still suffering from a nose that's peeling and red from blowing my nose far too much and an uncomfortable constant dry (?) cough
- Mondayitis...urgh
- Yay for the RF govt granting Snowden temporary asylum, suck it up USA!
- I haven't drunk coffee in a month or so to stay awake, holy =O I've drunk tea only on weekends. Yay proves that I can survive without caffeine
- Sherlock season 3 trailer!
- 12th Doctor released today. Argh I am so behind and though I constantly bemoan this I am too lazy to bother catching up...truly first world problems =_=
- Still a drama addict, I do love my sassy female leads :)
- the Ba construction. Almost......getting...it!
- One of life's greatest yet simplest pleasures: snoozing on the train.

#447- BITTER YOU MUST READ THIS IN 2 YEARS TIME

Sorry guys this will probably be a self post or one of those letters that you write to yourself in the future so bear with me for today. I'll talk in order of urgency and whatever I need to dump onto this page. First off, today is a sad day, in fact it is a very very very sad day because it was announced that Song Joong Ki is going to enlist in the army and complete his mandatory 2 years there. The story is, all Korean males have to at some point in time enlist in the army for 2 years unless they're given a special exception i.e. winning an Olympic medal (that's all I know) but apart from that this rule applies to everyone and if you try to avoid this duty then you get like exiled in the eyes of the public. So since Joong Ki is already 28 years old, the time to part has come, 2 years.... how am I to live for 2 years without seeing his lovely face gracing my screen. How am I to fangirl aimlessly without any hope of seeing him in a project for quite some time. It was so hard to see you part from Running Man, but I was glad that the extra time allowed you to focus more on other activities and hence Innocent Man which I loved and also Wolf Boy. Joong Ki your acting is flawless, your skin is flawless and your variety skills are Daebak! Please come back to visit on Running Man and announce an upcoming project when you are finally released until then stay strong, healthy and most importantly happy. I'll be awaiting the day of your return, to the future me, read back onto this and have a good laugh because I know you will. Sometimes I cannot even fathom how absurd I can be at times, but I love dramas, it has been my life for quite starting from my earliest introduction to them when I was 4 and watched Return of Princess Pearl (have to rewatch this in Summer). I told Reflectica this but if watching dramas were a sport, then I'd be in the Olympics, not sure if I'd be on the podium but I'd definitely partake in it. So Shirley, in 2 years time you would've said goodbye to teenage-dom, hopefully you're a lot wiser and taller, preferably the latter and with one degree down you're a full-time law student who shouldn't watch dramas like a hopeless romantic anymore until you're an old housewife but who am I to kid I'll be working to sue people's asses off (not even going to be the case).

Lastly, to everyone that I know that did UMAT I hope you guys did well and get into your desired course. One of my law friends at uni did it as well except he did it for the lols (like me last year) because he didn't do it last year when everyone was in year 12.
