• HAS HORRIBLE SPELLING (x2) Story is I bought AusOpen tickets and left my email address because that's the fastest and cheapest way that you can receive your tickets. You're supposed to get them within 15min... I waited 2hrs....still nothing. I called them up and the guy said the person couldn't spell my email address and so he fixed it and so I waited for another 40min.... still nothing. Called them again for the 3rd time and finally the guy told me that the 2nd person added an extra letter = = and in the end I just had it sent to my 2nd email address and it was instantly in my inbox. Sigh all this stress the day before Phys T^T

#300 - She says

YAY - my first exam is over! Not looking forward to the crappy finishing times every day though - I have to wait 26 minutes to change trains. And.... I am so very bored of studying and all over the place; I work hard for one hour before I start playing a few games of Temple Run :( But in times like this, I can't help but say that "sleep is for the weak" - I couldn't even sleep because I keep thinking and can't empty my mind, and honestly, I don't think sleeping less has an adverse impact on me. Though I cannot wait until trials are over just so I have a fantastic sleep every day! :)

Also just discovered the joys of JJ Lin and "she says". Hence the eponymously titled blog post. Simply.... tear jerking / likely to incite a period of fangirlism ! - I heard a certain thing today, and wow, I am sort of... umf. I really hope it's not true and I don't want to judge without knowing all the facts. However I do know that if you wish to succeed, do it wholeheartedly and the right way - put in all your effort and don't use unethical means. Otherwise it is pointless and you only end up being untrue to yourself.

#299- Bittersweet Olympic moment

Overnight was the semis for mens and womens. Put simply Maria won so she's guranteed at least a silver but Nole lost so it's '08 dejavu.

That's it from me as I wallow in my self-pity, you see Paper 1 was horrible and this news was bittersweet. So go Maria for the finals and I hope that Nole gets the bronze as for the mens final I'm praying that Federer wins because a)He deserves to complete the Golden Slam and b)I don't like Andy Murray and I refuse to be bombarded with British media going on and on about him and his performance. It's basically the equivalence to Australia was our obsession (thank god I'm not) with James Magnussen

A new word.
I disagree with the notion "there is no luck" - yes there is.  Now that's something I believe in!  
Today was quite a serene and nice last day. Thank you dear school for providing a FREE SAUSAGE SIZZLE....with the chance of seconds and thirds! And soft drinks. Though they ran out before I could get thirds... ): haha but I swear I can legit eat three servings :D
And I don't know why I was "so happy" today in the last period, especially seeing how I detest it so.... but yeah, being happy is the bombbbb. Is it even like me? Usually I would call myself cynical...but sometimes there are moments where I just find joy in the little things (excluding pimples, which I seem to be suffering from...-_-). Like le train adventures with my hubs J (who requested I blog about this) hahaha. A plethora of good times - being downright embarrassing whilst experiencing a whole lot of fun -> ugly "wtf are they doing" looks from people. Ah that reminds me I am an absolute embarrassment on public transport (perhaps it's just me who thinks this): I have almost tripped ungracefully down the stairs, got my bag stuck in the door twice during peak hour, and have people tell me my bag was full on open -_- Anyway, a key example of the stuff we do  with people facing us (:

I also popped by AusPost and ...finally and spontaneously bought the elusive Load & Go card! ONLINE SHOPPING WITH NO RIPPED OFF DOMESTIC PRICES? HELL YEAH. But after trials =D Now to face the wrath of my mother, oh noes and ... trials. Uhhhh, I sense there is much cramming to be done

Didn't go to school today heheheh. And honestly I think I was so counterproductive - I didn't achieve much except have a well deserved 11 hour sleep, pig out and.....look for formal dresses! MI AMOR, MODCLOTH. The styles. I do adore. Unlike when I looked in domestic mainstream stores - I was not in any way impressed by the dresses - shit quality, extremely elevated unworthy prices, unsightly styles..... I shall shudder.

I've never understood this concept either. Or when people mistakenly say "should of" instead of "should have" and can't differentiate between "its" and "it's".

#297- Economics behind Olympic success

You know I was googling the medal tally (my daily ritual) and one of the news articles was about the BRIC'S and also about the relationship between Australia's medal tally and our appreciating dollar. SO the curious george in me decided to read them because they might beef up my essays (yeah right!)

Basically the AUD article said that whenever Australia had a low exchange rate then we would do reasonably well, i.e. in 2000 and 2004. Not sure if you know this but recenting Australia has been experiencing an appreciating dollar, rising by 16.5 per cent against the British pound over the last two years and 42 per cent against the euro since the Athens Olympics in 2004. Also an appreciating dollar = cheaper shopping = Increased spending and more time away from training and that was the logic used behind this article.

They also commented about the reducing spending by the Australian Govt on sport, why? It's because of the govt's contractionary stance as the govt aims to achieve a buget surplus over the course of the business cycle bad thing is that the figures don't support this......

Moving onto the next article, where they tried to show the relationship between emerging countries i.e. BRICs and their growth and the correlation to medal tallies. Click here if you want to read it. Also if anyone can be bothered but is the Soviet Union counted as part of BRICs because I always thought that it just stood for Brazil, Russia, India and China.
