#508 - Not a superwoman

I hate the feeling of not being at my best, doing my best and I wish I could just go with the flow and be chill, not caring - but the guilt eats away at me; this is my responsibility and what I make of it. The week starts off with a relative high since I am at my optimum functioning level thanks to my Sunday sleep-in and then it gets steadily worse until Thursday. 

I'm not super woman, I'm human.
Just two weeks.
Best foot forward.

Two of the stupidest things I've heard all week:

1. So what happened to Australia being a multicultural nation? Thanks for nothing, federal government.  

2. Can't believe we elected him to be our PM.

Onto more cheerful topics, a couple of firsts this week. Finally made a friend in my deathly silent and socially awkward Jap tute, bought my first concert tickets for Gabrielle Aplin who I am currently obsessed with thanks to Vi and went to my very first musical! Lion King was amazing and it was so wonderful to catch up with J and R again. Only downside is that the Capitol staff didn't catch the jerk in front of us who sneakily and illegally kept snapping pictures throughout the entire musical and I don't know why we didn't report him?! Urgh. Anyway I love the feeling of finishing uni and having a good old catch up (:

#507- Busy busy bee

Havent blogged in ages adjusting to my new schedule if you'd call it that. This is pretty much work, volunteer, uni sub-committee and uni and blog in spare time on top of that. Suffice to say I cannot wait for holidays because driving and mandarin is being severely neglected atm. I long for the day when I can drive myself around, sigh soon Bitter soon.

#505- Thank god for the weekend

Before I begin I wanted to share a few thoughts regarding the Malaysia Airlines flight that went missing, my thoughts and prays are with the victim's family and I sincerely hope that answers will come to light soon. It is so baffling that such an incident like this could occur given how 'connected' everyone says we are. I have no idea why but I have somehow watched many, many episodes of Air Crash Investigations, Mayday and Seconds from disaster so I am slightly more informed that your ordinary person but please don't think it's something of a fascination with planes but more so because I seek answers to past tragedies in hope that they will be averted in the future. On the flip it has also made me paranoid every time I have to go on an aeroplane, I know many people love it but I detest that mode of travelling because one I have a fragile stomach that will cave in for practically every form of transportation and two I am so scared of an accident occurring. So guys every time I say have a safe flight I really mean it more so than others because I will be praying that you make it to your destination in one piece without any dramas.

Unfortunately, like Sweet I also now have to find that elusive work-life balance between uni, work, work, work and blogging I basically have no time for just about anything else which includes a social life and sleep. I'll try to blog as much as possible especially on my other blog because I really want to go further with it but that means that I will have to prioritise some things over others. So in case you haven't heard from me in a while, I'm sorry I'll try to be here as often as I can but until then~

Aftermath: a party takes its toll

FINALLY have been inside! highlight of work last week.

In recent times:
= ATM swallowed my card today. Well there's a first for everything, isn't there?
= Being awfully sick for a few days makes you appreciate being in good health so much more
= Laughing so much recently :)
= Working on balancing work/uni/social stuff. I feel more like a "real grown-up" doing what I do
= More than halfway through C25K! My second time round after one year and a half years. I know it's been taking me an awfully long time to do but can we blame it on the less-than-ideal weather conditions and laziness on my part.
= Absolutely obsessed with Mayday; non-stop repeat of the song set as my ringtone
= Gradually working up my courage and confidence
= Lion King Musical tickets have been booked!
= Can I honestly profess that I am feeling so much more at ease with myself and the general populace since finishing high school? In hindsight I was such a horrid adolescent. I'm so thankful for the relationships I've fostered ever since - be it with high school friends, where we've maintained our close ties or have become even closer, or uni friends, who have allowed me to become someone I'm really content with. 

#503- Happy World Tennis Day

Short post today, happy World Tennis Day!!!! Uni has started and oh god I so don't want to be back, I mean it's great to see everyone again but sleep, drama, and everything else I love about holidays. Chinese will also be a struggle to squeeze time in in between readings for two law units, I'm so scared there is so much to read. So work to do, potentially juggling 4 'jobs' this month but I'll confirm when I get the call to start.
