#351- Goodbye 2012

It's almost 2013 and I hope that 2012 brought us all fond memories and experiences that we will treasure for a long time. I think that I am very atypical, seeing as I'll be heralding the new year by watching Running Man-  I am addicted to this show big time (Song Joong Ki FIGHTING). In case you're interested it's a variety show where the members (and usually guests as well) have to complete missions and if they lose then they have to face a punishment which usually involves ridiculous things (I finished the hot pants arc ....)

Also I got my Mac but because I'm not entirely used to it, I'm still blogging using PC and gosh it's so weird whenever I use the touch pad because I think it's like a Mac and unintentionally push down on it (gosh I'm such a dope). So Elisa and Better when you get back teach me how to use it properly because I still can't open a new tab deliberately.

Mini Story time:
No shopping trip is complete without a little drama.....
When I went to pay the balance for my macbook (and to collect it as well), I found out that the receipt was printed wrong- human error on the person who serviced me, my bag had a Macbook pro instead of a Macbook Air and whilst they're the same price, the weight differs by a lot. So the staff when inside to check if there were any macbook airs left and they were all sold ): BUT at their other store in the city had 8 in stock but it was 8min away the only problem was that I had an appointment to get to in the city so I couldn't wait for it to be delivered, so the trusty staff that was attending me said that I should go to my appointment and when I get back he'll have it ready for me. When I came back I was running late a bit, so I was worried if I could make the train (prelude CityFail) at 3:25 at Town Hall if not there was the 3:39 train at Central. By the time that I was on my way to any nearby station the 3:25 train had already left so me being me, caught the train at St James (the closest station) to change at Central. I got to Central at 3:37 and went to the platform for my line and guess what no train- CITYFAIL btw that day when I went to the city the train was late by 10min and there was not even a single announcement- CITYFAIL.

End of story~

Moving on, I thought that I'd share this with you but I recently started a solo mission of my own which is to complete a 1000 piece jig-saw puzzle and to make matters worse it's a quarter the size of a normal piece so right now I harbor a massive hate towards skies.

 Remember I have tiny hands
I'll leave you all with a picture of a sunflower that I grew so hopefully it'll brighten up your day/night/morning (: That's it for me today, and I wish you the best of luck in fulfilling the resolutions that you set for 2013. Happy New Year!!!!!!

Oh and NO1E I pray that you have a successful summer and I can finally cheer you on in person like a massive fangirl (:

#350 - Boxing Day

Got up early since Bitter asked me if I was interested in boxing day sale "shopping" :P (shall abbreviate to BDS since I'm too lazy to type the whole thing...)
I have never been to BDS before and though I don't think I will go again, it was an interesting experience.

> Trackwork....... thank you dear Cityrail.I've never been to Olympic Park Station, but it was so modern and futuristic compared to most stations :)
> Being packed like sardines
> Security guards at every escalator and entrance
> Asians. Asians everywhere :P
>Mispronunciations of French names.
> Shit weather (hot, cold, hot, cold........)

Anyway sales were quite disappointing all in all, or just weren't that appealing to me - but yay, that meant I only spent money on food! Bitter got her MacBook Air for a really good deal though (:
We swooned and aah-ed over Liu Wen, luxurious LadurĂ©e packaging and food that we will probably never eat, divine camera lens and bodies, then popped up to Central to satisfy our pho craving at Gia Hoi. Gia Hoi is a place I highly recommend if you like authentic Vietnamese food, great service, cheap delicious meals and if you like bargains (always 20% at Canley Heights, though not at city).
#1 fav dish, and one I will never get sick of. I will love this forever and ever. Beef pho!

Bitter's meal - spicy beef pho (:

Bitter!!

Anyhoo during our eating fest, Bitter & I managed to be telepathic, I was thinking of Hungry Jack's large $1 frozen coke and Bitter just happened to think of the same thing and ask if we could go get one :P so off we went, trekking 1km to Hungry Jacks in Central...only to be sorely disappointed because they didn't sell it!! -__- eventually went back to Town Hall and got it, but it was all soggy. And there is like no escaping Gangnam style................

Oh and to drama fans, I also highly recommend "The Moon that embraces the Sun" - I have watched a plethora of dramas recently, and this was so good!!! I did not suffer from the Sweet Syndrome at all (haha) - I was totally hooked from the beginning to end (: Loved it.

Also I shall be going on a hiatus starting on the 29th, but I may sporadically post if I get access to blogger (yeah, no thanks to the CCP's stringent and ubiquitous notion of internet censorship!). Or else Bitter shall post on my behalf (: Anyway hope everyone has been having a lovely time atm. I can't wait to escape the crazy weather here. Over and out,
- r

#349- It's Christmas

Hi guys~

Got atar, not happy about, enough said on that matter but on related news congrats to all my friends who got all rounders and hopefully everyone is more content with their results than I am.

Moving on

Sweet and I went on an adventure to Chatswood the other day although it was more like tourist and tourist guide. The day before I was online and looking at sales and at DFO Ralph Lauren was having a 70% off store wide sale and since I'm a massive lover of Ralph Lauren, I had to be there. So I called Sweet up to tell her about our change in plans and well unexpectedly I mistakenly got there an hour earlier than what we agreed upon. Whoops >< I know that I pride myself on being punctual but I still have no idea how I could have confused the times that badly. Anyhow I went into Ralph Lauren the minute they opened and headed straight for the Oxford shirts, which are available in super slim fit, one of the many reasons why I love Ralph Lauren.

After that it was Diana Ferrari where we both bought a pair of ballet flats and then we roamed for a while and OMG Georgio Armani opened there and gosh it looks amazing same with Ermenegildo Zegna except with their price tags I wonder how many customers they have each day especially on week days. Oh and Sweet I hope you enjoy the perfume and use it wisely okay.

At Chatswood we ate at Carre Noir (will do a review post on other blog) before going to Mac at Myer to try out their lipsticks so that I could find my perfect shade. Then we just roamed around.

Comparing Dslrs~

Christmas Eve~

Had lobster in the morning with garlic butter sauce! That night my mum had a work dinner and I decided to tag along and got treated to lobster again (: Although nothing beats drunk asians singing ancient chinese songs oh well free food.

Also this is extremely last minute but anyone want to go Boxing day sales shopping in city preferably when Myer/DJs open at 5am >> but anytime is fine by me.

#348 - YES!

A little ray of sunshineeeee after some dark thunderclouds :D
My heart was pounding so fast this morning, and I was beyond thrilled and over the moon when I saw that...
the one thing I really had my heart set on, which I thought was unattainable, and was wallowing in sorrow at the thought of not getting it, is now...attainable?
I'm really ecstatic :)

thanking my lucky stars,
r

#347= urghhh

oh god, results are out tomorrow and a big congrats to all those who came first in their course especially those from my school on a side note, I envy the guy who topped 3 languages.

okay now i'm going to go drama crazy on you (: just finished Nice Guy and The Moon that embraces the Sun, the one thing they have in common is an amnesia story line and tbh I think it's getting more and more overrated, that might be because I liked the pre-enlightenment character better.

Below is a small list of dramas that I've (watched and ) compiled which all feature some element of memory loss:
- The Moon that Embraces the Sun
- Nice Guy
- Prince Turns into a Frog
- Hi my Sweetheart
- Autumn's Concerto
- Will it Snow for Christmas
- Hana Yori Dango (Japanese, Korean, Taiwanese AND Chinese)
- Stairway to Heaven

There is definitely more but I just can't remember them at this stage so feel free to let me know of any that you've seen

Review Time!

First Up is Nice Guys and I suffered the Sweet Syndrome when I was watching both dramas ie you start to give up or feel bored at ep14.

Anyhow OMG SONG JOONG KI IS THE BEST<3333 DAEBAK words cannot describe how good of an actor he is not to mention that he is a flower boy with literally the best skin for a male ......
^ This guy <33333 Btw this is his college graduation photo not some cf or photoshoot

Acting wise is superb for the main cast although Better and I are finding it hard to stomach the sister's character. A good watch but heads up it has an incredibly melodramatic storyline but if you ignore that then you'll love it esp if you're like Better and you can train your dog, Sugar to be able to hiss the word b*tch whenever the antagonist appears.

The Moon that Embraces the Sun

I just finished this drama and the OST is so good, I have a video below with the main song, the chorus is divine. I kinda cry inside every time I hear it T^T and the best thing is that KIM SOO HYUN sings a song for the OST as well.

The acting was good, I might have fallen for the child actors (?), they're so adorable and gosh I wouldn't mind watching them as the leads some day in the distant future or in this drama except that would mean that Scheduler or Jung ll Woo would not be in it ):

Alas, they were (my good fortune kekeke) and I'm so glad that they were in the main cast. I don't know why but I feel slighty unsatisfied when they did the time lapse because the guys all ended up looking incredibly dashing and well as for the girls.. let's just say they chose really pretty and cute child actors so they and much more to look up to. I guess when you wear a hanbok including the hair, it'll make your face look much wider than what it would seem. Oh well that's just me being picky except for the choice of the female lead, and whilst I like her in Witch Amusement, she is much older than Kim Soo Hyun as well as who she's playing. That's all, Enjoy!

#346 - Lazy blogger

To do... someday:
1. make my own happiness
2. what am I so afraid of? overcome fears.
3. get up early, randomly press a far off destination at the ticket machine and take a long train ride to .....

Now off to watch Grey's Anatomy =D

12/12/12

I would have liked to post this at 12:12 but unfortunately I was waiting for the train T^T and I don't have access to the internet via my phone so yeah...

Gosh Sweet I understand and feel you pain when it comes to finding work. I mean I wouldn't mind doing retail except everyone wants someone who has prior experience so how do we get experience if we can't even start from ground zero ):

Also, when I was on the train today, I found this on my seat and I thought that I'd share it with all you. It's about a cause that may not be publicized but nonetheless it should be known.

----

Okay from here on I'm going to turn into a k-pop fangirl starting with this

Ahhh I love this cutie <333

Also if you're bored watch Nice Guy with Song Joong Ki in it, it's so good and I'm so proud of myself. I finished Dream High 2, at first I gave up after 20min because I couldn't stand the outlandish acting nor the poor script and storyline. However I decided after to watch it with an extremely thick filter so if you can do the same the go ahead and follow suit otherwise stay away from this drama. The only thing that makes it worth it is seeing this guy debut.
And lastly, remember Show Lo, yes I still follow this guy. You know, in October my Scheduler appeared on his variety show

#344 - More updates!

Monday: watched Perks of Being a Wallflower with the same old group! :)  Didn't read the book beforehand, and liked the movie, despite not warming up to the main character (did warm up to supporting characters, Emma Watson - ultimate girl crush- and Ezra Miller). Also saw merchandise featuring my most abhorred boy "band" atm in Dymocks. SO. SAD.

Tuesday: optometrist appointment. Luckily, my eyesight hasn't deteriorated and sadly, reaffirmed my dad to be the epitome of ultimate cheap ass stingy Asian...... sigh.

Wednesday: for the first time, someone came over to my house!! =D (cannot reveal name for certain reasons, haha) Usually it's me who ends up going to other people's places since everyone sort of lives in relatively close proximity to each other and a little far from me, but today was the opposite. And we stuffed ourselves happy with food, games and Sound of Music. And realised blogger template has been modified after the said visitor taught me how to change blog skins --- the blog is in desperate need of change, I think I am growing tired of the same old template. Andd sadly, my often staying- at-home has resulted in the internet being capped, starting from tomorrow and lasting until next Tuesday :X That's a veryyy long time.......

After reading this, I have lost so much faith in humanity. Taking photos takes precedence over another person's life. How low people have become these days?

#343- My week thus far

Wow for some reason this week seemed quite busy for me and it was also filled with unexpected coincidences.

Monday- Movies with Elisa (blogged about this already)
Tuesday- home

Wednesday- Burwood but first I had to go to Herb's house to grab my stuff from formal (yes that was a while ago), on the way we saw Better waiting outside the Bunnings bus stop.
My reaction: Hey that person looks like Better. In my head- she has glasses that Better wears but her hair looks different but then I remembered reading about how dandelion cut Better's hair during schoolies. Upon closer examination (not really the right word but I can't think of it atm) it was her except she was wearing all black so I assumed that she was going to work. When I got to Herb's house, she was still asleep so her grandma and dad just passed me my stuff and then mum dropped me off at Parra station but before that at the 7/11 intersection we saw Better again, mind you it was lovely to see her backside as she crossed the street. Oh and one more coincidence, remember the duck bag of mine that I bought online, well I saw it on someone else (actually on two people together) and thanks to the incredible zoom on my pink phone I have a photo to show you all.

Got to Burwood and using my skillful public transport intuition I knew that it would be faster to go to catch a fast train to Straithfield before changing to a different line and I was right (: I went past Wowcow there and they have peanut butter flavoured frozen yoghurt, left a few resumes before I had watermelon moochi (gosh it's been so long since I had that)

Thursday- Happy Apple's early 18th birthday party, fortunately the weather wasn't too bad and it was good to catch up with everyone. Btw your rocky road cupcakes were divine Happy Apple. Oh yeah I tried to find Victoria's Basement before going to the restaurant but it seemed too far away so I just gave up and I wonder if Batter ended up running?

Friday- City! Spontaneous trip because I had to go to Gucci to chase up something regarding my wallet and this mark that I want covered under my warranty and whilst I was there I decided to do some investigative shopping. At DJ I tried on some Michael Kors watches and yeah my wrist is tiny so I need someone to recommend a good jeweler/watch shop that can do alterations, went to a few shops to look for some bags that might suit my mum's taste but they weren't that great. After that I passed Hyde Park to go to the other side of city to do some more investigative shopping and I passed this filming site for My Kitchen Rules (yeah I love this show) or at least I think so seeing as everyone was adorned in the MKR apron and they were sitting in front of their food-mobiles waiting for lunch hour to begin. Anyhow I went to the Lindt Cafe at Martin Place and their Dark Chocolate Mocha is so good, I also bought these chocolate umbrellas seeing as they were decent priced and cute btw they have macarons as wells (jelly). Night time- we attempted to have a 4-way awesome foursome conversation on the phone but Batter was busy, btw guys I hope that your applications were successful and that you didn't submit them at midnight

 Purchases from Lindt Cafe
Just being a tourist in my home city, Xmas tree in Martin Place
 Xmas tree in QVB
Oh yeah did I mention that I had N2, I got blueberry but it melted really fast but that probably had to do with the fact that it was 30-40 degrees outside. Btw if you're thinking of going go after noon because they open late and I had to wait 5 minute but that also meant that I was their first customer of the day (:

Saturday- Home (phew)

Sunday (Today)- Long day
Okay so went back to city but with mum this time, first we went to QVB to look at knives apparently she knows this really good one for cutting meat but its curved (?) and not sold at Victoria's basement so she'll ask around for it. Then it was Westfield Sydney, visited the Nespresso shop, then a couple of the other shops in search of good decently priced bag. We went to the Prada shop and my mum was quite fond of the Saffiano Lux tote that lots of people have except she wasn't ready to commit to so we went to DJs to look at their bags and there's a mini Prada shop there so we went inside to have a closer look at some bags especially the....... which is a new arrival and limited edition. In fact there were only 15 in Australian shelves, 4 in Sydney and we just so happened to pick the last one in Black, matte calfskin leather. The price... well its more than a Saffiano that's for sure and being the last one my mother and I inspected it like crazy, us being asian and all. So we noticed this mark at the bottom as well some discolouration on the zipper and being Prada and all they wouldn't give us a discount ): So we went back to the Prada Westfield shop to see if there  were any similar styles and I asked the sales staff and before she gave me an answer Better called my name out (btw she recognised my mum first) and yes I knew she was in the city that day (from our conversation on the phone) but I had no idea when so it was a coincidentally meeting. They had just purchased a black Saffiano when we told them about our dilemma and then after they finished their transaction we went back to DJs before spending another 30min just talking in general oh and yeah we did discuss the bag before we had a 3 vs 1 argument about the wallet that Better wanted (Better get the light blue but in the design that I recommended because then you can use when you're older as well). After some cleaning (of the bag) and some further discussion we decided to get the bag and Better thanks again for offering to take our on a journey and I hope you enjoyed shopping for the rest of the day. NTS Prada boxes are monstrous, I learnt the hard way.

Well the day isn't over and we made good use of our Family Funday Ticket but going to Chatswood next, we were going to go eat at this restaurant I wanted to try but seeing as we unexpectedly (yes I totally did not see this coming) bought something expensive we decided to minimalise our spending for the day by buying bread from breadtop because they were celebrating their 10th anniversary and that meant 15%. Finally we got our hair cut and then boarded the train for a 1hr 10min journey back. Also, this is just a trend that keeps on happening but whenever my mum makes us walk to the station instead either something good or bad happens, from past experiences it either rained really hard or I had to carry lots of heavy bags or I ended up finding (and obviously buying) something I loved.

Technically it's cheaper at Neiman Marcus (where I stole this picture) but apparently if you buy online you forfeit the warranty and apparently these online boutiques don't store stuff all that well. Also I'll be doing an unboxing the bag post on my other blog but for a heads up there won't be many detailed photos as I want to avoid people from using my picture to create a fake. Also today I finally learnt the value of being multilingual seeing as the sales assistant spoke to us in 3 languages.

wow if you managed to read all of this then good job!
